About the project
This award winning playground entailed working with a community group who were very interested in using natural materials and keeping the playground as natural as possible to complement the natural and well known Fenor bog area.
This site was an extremely wet field and we had to extensively drain the site and used this opportunity to build mounds out of the digout.
We used the large rock boulders and natural stone from the site as features in the playground.
The natural stone was used in the building of a replica mine which was in part of the areas local history and the rock boulders worked very well within the play ground to create access to hill slide, seating and play features.
A mound was created in the playground and installed a specular unit with a large slide.
Equipment for children with special needs were also installed in the playground.
Tiger Mulch was used in impact areas for low maintenance and to give a natural look to the finish.
